Athens Montessori Parents (AMPs) exists to enhance the relationship between the school and its families by organizing activities that allow parents to support and further participate in the life of the school. These activities take the form of cultural, educational, social and fund-raising events that a leadership team, in conjunction with the whole parent body, initiates, organizes and coordinates.
The Auction Team is responsible for overseeing the Spring Auction.
The Hospitality Committee coordinates AMPs dinners held several times a year and welcomes new families.
The Community Service Team coordinates the year round activities through which AMS offers support and resources to local and regional social service agencies.
The Green Committee focuses on conservation throughout the campus.
The Education Committee offers parents opportunities to learn about educational issues that concern AMS parents.
The Fall Festival Team is responsible for overseeing the Fall Festival, a family fun fund raising event held each November.
The Support and Appreciation Committee provides support for AMS families and staff throughout the year.
The Holiday Float Committee coordinates the creation of a float for the Downtown Holiday Parade in December.
The Landscape Committee helps to maintain the landscaping, coordinates Landscape Days, assists with grounds design and playscape development.
The Staff Workday Team provides luncheon for staff on Teacher Work Days throughout the year.
